Dr. Michael Hsieh is a Nonresident Affiliate at the Stanford Center for International Security and Cooperation. He has over two decades of experience in the U.S. technology community, where he has held senior roles in industry, government and nonprofits. His specialization is in high-risk / high-reward investments in cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence, quantum information and digital security. Previously, he was the founding Executive Director of the Transformative Cyber Innovation Lab, a nonprofit focused on bringing technology demonstrations to government, industry and higher education. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Princeton University, and his B.A. in mathematics at U.C. Berkeley.
